Jazzový pianista, saxofonista, skladatel a aranžér  Petr Beneš, narozen roku 1977, byl přijat v roce 1993 na Konzervatoř a VOŠ Jaroslava Ježka  v Praze, kde absolvoval obory klavír a skladba.  V roce 2015 absolvoval bakalářský program na  Janáčkově akademii múzických umění v Brně.  Následně v roce 2017 absolvoval magisterský  program na HAMU v Praze v oboru jazzová  interpretace. Od roku 2002 zaměstnán jako učitel klavíru  a jazzové interpretace na Konzervatoři a VOŠ  Jaroslava Ježka v Praze. Mnoholeté angažmá s projekty Petr Kořínek  Quartet, Trialog, Jazz Efterrätt, Libor Šmoldas  Quartet, Bigband sv. Blažeje, Český národní  symfonický orchestr a dalšími. Spolupracoval s: Bobby Watson, Randy  Brecker, Bobby Shew, Vince Mendoza,  George Mráz, Chris Brubeck, Alex Garnett,  Michael Janish, Robby Marshall a dalšími. V roce 2013 zakládá svůj vlastní kvartet. Vítěz soutěže o nejlepší jazzovou skladbu roku 2011 pořádanou OSA ve spolupráci s Bohemia JazzFestem se skladbou Waiting for Art. He finished a Bachelor´s at Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno in 2015 and Master´s at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 2017. He has been teaching piano and jazz interpretation at Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and College since 2002. He has been a member of the Petr Kořínek Quartet, Trialog, Libor Šmoldas Quartet, Czech National Symphony Orchestra and St. Blaise’s Big Band for many years. He has collaborated with Bobby Watson, Randy Brecker, Bobby Shew, Vince Mendoza, George Mráz, Chris Brubeck, Alex Garnett, Michael Janish, Robby Marshall and many others. Has founded his own quartet in 2013. His piece Waiting for Art won the Composition of The Year 2011 award at a competition organized by Bohemia JazzFest and OSA.
